Aldermont Hill
Olive terraces twenty minutes above the city, with the whole valley below.
Aldermont is the last hill before the coast plain opens out. It was farmed in olives for four centuries and is still farmed in olives on the north side; the south side has houses, most of them single-storey, most of them behind a wall.
The appeal is the combination: a city that is genuinely twenty minutes away, and a plot where the nearest neighbour is a field.
What to know
Water
Hill plots are on borehole supply with mains back-up. Any offer should be conditional on a current flow certificate.
Planning
The terraces are protected. Houses here are permitted one storey plus a partial basement, which is why the good ones are all courtyard plans.
